Flexible workforce solutions offer many options for professionals to go out and experience the world one mission at a time. While each assignment or mission varies in length, they all eventually come to an end. But the end of a mission doesn’t signal the end of our collaboration. There are always new projects on the horizon and more opportunities to continue working together. Returning to take on another mission is what we call the boomerang effect.
Today we are delighted to meet Christine. She was our first global female consultant and one of our first consultants in the New Caledonia office. Let’s explore her journey with Easy Skill and learn more about why she chose to come back to our team and work together on another mission.
Her story dates back to 2016 when one of our founder’s Christopher Lorho had just opened the New Caledonia office. He worked hard to organize Christine’s mobilisation from Nouméa to Koné for the perfect role. “I first met Chris in Nouméa to discuss the position and how Easy Skill would help me with my career. After that, everything moved so quickly, and I was at work onsite one week later!” Christine said.
Christine has a special set of skills that are incredibly hard to find. She’s an expert in the Plant Maintenance module of SAP. Her major responsibilities are very broad covering data administration, maintenance plan configuration, coordination and implementation of changes, KPI extractions and user support. Her role here is unique. It’s main objective is to create an internal shift towards a performance culture for SAP, which includes a heavy workload of change management.
After working with SAP for 20 years, she became a super user and a product expert. “When the company I worked for first implemented SAP, I learned the software as a regular user. It seemed intuitive to me and I excelled at mastering its functionality, so people started to ask for my help. After a while one thing led to another and I transitioned into a role that provided user support,” confides Christine. Armed with the ability to keep a cool head under pressure, she’s well suited to guide frustrated users towards better outcomes.
One of the reasons she enjoys being a part of the Easy Skill group is that she feels like she matters. “I don’t feel just like a number on a paper. I actually feel like people here care about me as a person,” Christine confessed. She values the personal connection with Easy Skill and enjoys the opportunity to exchange regular phone calls and dinners, even though the Easy Skill office and her company are not in the same city.
One of the other things Christine shared is how much she appreciates our ability to customize every mission to her specific skillset. With prior part-time work commitments in Nouméa, she needed a role that would align their scheduled workload with her availability. Easy Skill was able to find the perfect match and to negotiate flexible work arrangements including logistics like flights, accommodations and vehicle. At Easy Skill we enjoy making our consultants lives easier and taking care of the details so they can focus on their career!
“It’s an incredible experience to be able to work two different jobs in different cities without worrying about logistics,” exclaimed Christine. When we asked her what she had planned for the next five years, she admitted she doesn’t have all the details. “I like seeing what opportunities come up and going with the flow so I can experience the most out of life.” While we can’t predict the future either, we’d be delighted to share many more missions with Christine.
